Quality and documents

Quality on an export order is two things: the goods matching the grade you ordered, and the paperwork matching what your customs authority expects. Both are checked before the container doors close.

Grain and pulse samples being examined with tweezers in a laboratory

How a lot is checked

At the mill. The lot is sampled at the mill or packing house against the grade on your order.

In the lab. Moisture, broken percentage, purity and foreign matter are measured and recorded.

Before packing. Off-spec lots are rejected. Packing only starts once the sample matches the order.

Pre-shipment. Samples are couriered on request. Third-party inspection is arranged if you name the body.

At stuffing. Fumigation where required, then supervised stuffing with container photographs.

On paper. The document set is checked against your letter of credit or contract terms before the container sails.
